Derminator® needle cartridge (single needle)
Derminator® digital dermaneedling cartridge (single needle). Needle diameter 0.15 mm. (38 SWG, 34½ AWG). Gamma-sterilized. The needles are made of surgical steel and do not contain nickel. A single-needle cartridge is very useful for treating narrow scars such as certain stretch marks. Also, any time you need to treat a very small skin area, a single needle is a much more accurate choice. This is the only cartridge that works properly with the Original Derminator®. Any other cartridges, including those for the Derminator® 2, will not fit and even if they fit, their needling depth will be incorrect.
We apologize that some cartridges may break apart due to a poor connection between two plastic parts - the manufacturer is unable to solve the issue and no acceptable alternative manufacturers exist - we quality-tested them all - so we sell these cartridges for much less than what we paid for them, and six times cheaper than the normal price so you should buy double or three times what you'd think you'd need. Cartridge breakage can not cause harm to the skin - the needle simply stops moving. Our new Derminator 2 machine uses different, extremely high quality cartridges that are not made in China anymore and we purchased in carefully verified batches a supply for the next twelve years so this issue can never reoccur.Bajonet fitting. Align the slots in the cartridge with the protrusions on the tip of the hand unit, push the cartridge on firmly and while pushing, rotate the cartridge right a quarter turn. If you don't do this, the device won't needle the set depth and the cartridge may fly off (and the magnet out).
Cartridge lifetime depends on needling frequency, treatment duration, number of treatments and skin thickness. When treatment starts to be more painful or the machine starts to have trouble reaching the set depth, the needles have become blunt and it is time to replace the cartridge.
Cartridges should ideally NOT be reused but can be reused on only the SAME patient after disinfection with Ethanol according to our instructions. Do not use Dettol - it contains chloroxylenol, which can dislodge the needles. Chloramine-T will rust the metal spring. Disinfection procedure:
1. Blood serum removal: Pour a drop of dishwashing detergent into the cartridge and rinse it out by moving the plunger manually while holding the cartridge under a running tap with warm water.
2.
Disinfection: Fill a cup with a cm of fresh, NEVER USED Ethanol, submerge the cartridge into it and move the plunger a dozen times. Let it sit overnight and the next morning, move the plunger again and let it sit some more hours.
3. Rinsing: Under tap water (tap water in the western world never contains infectious bacteria relevant to dermaneedling), operate the plunger a dozen times.
4. Drying: Re-use the cartridge only after it has fully dried out and you can see no more liquid in the mechanism or inside the silicone membrane.
The needles in this cartridge are of perfect quality. We encourage our customers to look at the tips through a strong magnifying glass and compare them to the needle tips of other brands.
DUE TO THE FAST IN/OUT SPEED, THIS NEEDLE, WHEN MOVING, WILL USUALLY BE INVISIBLE. IT ALSO IS SO PAINLESS THAT YOU WILL OFTEN NOT EVEN BE ABLE TO FEEL IT. SO SOME PEOPLE THINK IT IS FAULTY. VERIFY THAT ALL IS OK BY NEEDLING A PIECE OF TAUT PAPER ON 1.5 MM NEEDLING DEPTH AND NOTICE THE HOLES AGAINST A BRIGHT LIGHT.
